Spain for All
Dr. Jose Sainz leads this program at the Universidad de Deusto in Bilbao, a bustling, friendly, and beautiful city in the Basque country on the coast of northern Spain. Additional UMW Visiting Teaching Faculty include Dr. Marisa Martinez-Mira from the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures.
The University of Deusto is located in the heart of the city, offering students a unique experience focusing on Spanish courses, business studies, or global studies programs in a variety of subjects. Begin your time in Spain with a three-day tour of Madrid and Toledo or Segovia. Visit the picturesque Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. Experience day trips to coastal villages including Bay of Bizcay, Urdaibai Nature Reserve, and San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. Make historical visits to Gernika and Mundaka, San Sebastian, San Mames Soccer Stadium & Museum. Participate in a day trip to Pamplona to see the Running of the Bulls and visit nearby San Sebastian. Experience a day trip to Santillana de Mar, including city tour and visit to Altamira’s Neo-Cave Prehistoric Paintings and Exhibition Center.
