| Number of Placements Available | The number of spaces available can be negotiated on an annual basis. The University of Mary Washington does not require that an equal number of students be mobile in a given year, although a balance in mobility levels should be achieved over the duration of the agreement. |

UMW does not issue DS-2019 immigration documents to international students in the non-degree status category who are NOT part of an official exchange program.
- Exchange students must be nominated by their home institution using the Exchange Student Nomination Form (to be completed by exchange partner university staff/advisor).

Following acceptance, prospective exchange students must complete the Request for DS-2019 Form. This must be done prior to applying for the J-1 Visa.
