Interested in traveling to Europe this summer and earning UMW credit while doing it? Come learn more about the Psychology in Europe course offered by Dr. Kolar in the Department of Psychological Science. Students in the course will visit London, Paris, Wurzburg, and Vienna while learning about the roots of Psychology in Europe. You don’t have to be a Psychology major to go. The only pre-requisite for the course is Psyc 100. The information session will cover the basics of the course including travel, lodging, sites we will visit, course requirements, and costs.

The goal of International Student Career Day (ISCD) is to provide relevant career development information and guidance to international students who are seeking jobs and/or internships in the United States after graduation. ISCD will answer questions such as:
How can I find a job in the U.S. after I graduate?
How should I begin looking? What do I need to know?
Whom can I talk with to help me with this process?
How will my immigration status affect my opportunities?

Join your UMW friends and colleagues to watch the first Presidential Debate of the 2016 general election. Following the showing of the televised debate on the big screen, participants will have an opportunity to voice their views on what they heard from the candidates. Dr. Stephen Farnsworth, professor of political science and director of the Center for Leadership and Media Studies, will moderate the Question & Answer Session. Light refreshments will be served.

This meeting is for people who may have an interest in next summer’s 5-week Advanced Studies in England Program in Bath, during June-July 2017. Dr. Lorentzen will be leading the program for UMW students, and teaching a Victorian Detective and Sensation novel course, filled with Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie, Wilkie Collins, and other blood-curdling authors.
We will discuss the different facets of the program, the steps you need to take to register for the program, etc. We will also be having some tea and British baked goods to celebrate the fun we can anticipate in England!
Dr. Lorentzen will have brochures, websites, step by step instructions, and biscuits on hand, as well as all the information you need to get signed up for the trip.
Here are a few facts about this spring break program:
Focus: Museums in London: museums and national identity. We will look at a lot of art (old and new) and explore the city of London.
Cost: $3200
Credits: 1-credit course with either Experiential Learning or Global Inquiry. There is no additional tuition fee for this course. However, you will need to register for it when you register for spring 2017 classes later this semester.
What’s included: airfare, 4-star hotel (Hilton Kensington), all breakfasts, four group dinners, museum pass, underground pass.
What’s not included: other meals, personal expenses, travel to and from Dulles airport
