Spend your spring break in Austria and Hungary, guided by Dr. Marcel Rotter with the Modern Languages and Literatures Department and Dr. Rosemary Jesionowski of UMW’s Art and Art History Department. Visit historic sites in Vienna and Budapest and surrounding areas as you study the history of 20th-century antisemitism under the German Third Reich. AccommodationsStudents will stay in a local hostel. CourseworkStudents will earn 1 course credit for IDIS 350Z Holocaust Memory or IDIS 350AA Austrian and Hungarian Culture. These courses satisfies the Experiential Learning OR Global Inquiry general education requirement by contract with the faculty director only. Requirements & PrerequisitesThere are no prerequisites for either course. Students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA in order to participate. This program is open to all UMW students regardless of major or year of study. It is also open to non-UMW students. ScholarshipsFaculty-Led Program Scholarships are available to UMW students (deadlines apply). PaymentSee the program fees and payment due dates in the right column.
