International travel may require immunizations or preventative medicines. Please refer to the US Center for Disease Control’s Traveler’s Health Information Page for recommendations. The Center for International Education recommends that each student have a personalized medical consultation prior to international travel.

This program includes moderate amounts of walking each day.

Spend your summer honing your professional skills on this 8-week program in Dublin, Ireland including one week of orientation and a seven-week internship. From the arts to politics, business to communications, healthcare, education, media, law or NGO’s, the EUSA Dublin placement team will provide a broad spectrum of intellectually stimulating internships based on your preferred industry sector and personal goals.

Accommodations

Students will live in an apartment complex especially designed for student use. The fully furnished apartments consist of shared kitchen, living area, and bathroom, internet connections and on-site laundry facilities.  Student residences are well served by public transportation.

Coursework

Students will earn up to 6 transfer credits for the 7-week internship. A few weeks before the program, students will have an internship consultation meeting with the placement team virtually and will be assigned a provisional placement based on skills, professional goals and interests. Most students will learn of their provisional placement prior to departure for Dublin, others will learn upon arrival. Once in Dublin, students will have an on-site interview with the placement supervisor and internships will be finalized. Each internship experience will be monitored through a mid-point review and feedback.

This course satisfies the Beyond the Classroom General Education Requirement.
