UMW in Austria Info Session

Spend your spring break in Germany, guided by Dr. Marcel Rotter and Dr. Jennifer Hansen-Glucklich of UMW’s German Department. Visit historic sites in Vienna and surrounding areas as you study the history of 20th-century antisemitism under the German Third Reich.

Visit former concentration camps and Holocaust memorial sites.
Discover the breathtaking art, architecture, and culture of Austria’s most famous cultural landmarks.

Students will earn 1 course credit for IDIS 350M Holocaust Memory or IDIS 350R German Art and Culture. Students may elect to take both courses (for a combined total of 2 credits) by paying a supplemental program fee. As part of their coursework, students will:

Visit historical sites and memorials in Austria.
Study required readings prior to departure.
Keep a reflective diary during the trip.
