UMW-EUSA Paris Internships
Spend your summer honing your professional skills on this 8-week program in Paris, France including one week of orientation and a seven-week internship. From the arts to politics, business to communications, healthcare, education, law or NGO’s, the EUSA Paris placement team will provide a broad spectrum of intellectually stimulating internships based on your preferred industry sector and personal goals.
Accommodations
Students will live in homestay accommodations.
Coursework
Students will earn up to 6 transfer credits for the 8-week internship. A few months before the program students will have an internship consultation meeting with the placement team via Skype and will be assigned a provisional placement based on skills, professional goals and interests. Most students will learn of their provisional placement prior to departure for France, others will learn upon arrival. Once in France, students will have an on-site interview with the placement supervisor and internships will be finalized. Each internship experience will be monitored through a mid-point review and feedback.
This course satisfies the Experiential Learning/Beyond the Classroom General Education Requirement.
Requirements & Prerequisites
There is no pre-requisite for this program. This program is open to students from all majors. Students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA in order to participate. As per UMW credit transfer policies, a grade of C or above is required for courses taught abroad to transfer back to UMW.
Scholarships
As a Generation Study Abroad commitment partner, EUSA – Academic Internship Programs is pleased to announce the Live, Intern, Learn Abroad scholarship. A select set of EUSA students will be awarded up to $2,000 in scholarships. Students will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Undergraduate student enrolled at a EUSA partner university or college, and participating in an established program
- First-time study abroad participant with either demonstrated financial need, OR first time study abroad participant who is a member of a group underrepresented in study abroad. APPLY HERE. Application deadline is February 1 for summer programs.
Payment
See the program fees and payment due dates in the right column. Use the Make a Payment button below to pay your deposit and regular program payment. Use the Special Payment option to pay a special amount (such as additional insurance or payment in a different amount as a result of a scholarship award).
Online payees have the choice of either credit card or eCheck (ACH) payment. ACH transactions will be charged a flat fee of $0.50 per transaction. All credit card payments will incur a 2.85% service fee. For credit card payments, a minimum convenience fee of $3.00 will be applied to transactions over $20.00 and under $106.00.
